What is Little “a” Activism
Years ago, some friends and I were chatting. One shared something that stuck with me—they didn’t know where to start when it came to helping the environment. Climate change and other ecological issues felt too big, too overwhelming. And honestly, I get it. So I started thinking: what would an approachable, entry-level way to get involved look like?
That question led me to something I’d already been doing informally for a few years—what I called renegade altruism. Small acts of care for the planet, often with a social twist. So I decided to make it official.
That’s how Little “a” Activism Days were born. These events are meant to bring together communities of like-minded people who care about the Earth and want to make a difference, even in small ways. What started as casual invasive plant pulls, trash cleanups, and themed BBQs has grown into structured beach clean-ups, guided naturalist hikes, and family-friendly educational events. It’s important to me that these gatherings stay accessible—free, welcoming, and open to all ages.
We all have the ability to get more involved, to align our lives with the well-being of the planet. You don’t have to be an expert or an activist with a capital “A.” Just join in. Speak up for nature. Be part of the healing.
